MGM Channel to be included in YouTube
Recently, it was announced by YouTube that soon their site will have MGM channels, which would be sharing advertized actions such as American Gladiators, or even some old movies.
YouTube is hoping that this step might even attract other big movie studios to initiate opening up of channels on YouTube. This will actually make their productions more readily available to the public. In order to get the studio to get its share of the profit made from viewers watching the content, MGM channels will be advertiser-supported. As of now only a few old titles have been announced to be available on YouTube.
Since many big steps were taken between the Internet and producers in understanding how things really sell on the internet and how to properly commercialize their products on the web, this year proved to be quite important for them. The shows which were aired by the American Gladiators back in 80's and 90's will be hosted on YouTube.
This is definitely good news for those, who really enjoyed old fashioned TV shows. It was also announced by MGM that it will also make available on Google's YouTube a small number of movies like Bulletproof Monk or Legally Blonde.
However, there is one problem with this move, which is the low quality of YouTube videos and long time taken to download it. To keep the users glued to the site, it is necessary that this problem should be dealt with as soon as possible.
