German Premium car maker, Mercedes-Benz has launched its car leasing business called, "Star Lease" in the Indian market.

The new leasing service will be offered through Daimler Financial Services India, a subsidiary of Daimler Financial Services AG in the Indian market. Star Lease, which is a unique self leasing option in the luxury car segment, will cover all the models offered by the company in the country.

The new leasing service is now available on all Mercedes-Benz dealerships across the country for customers. Initially, the scheme will offer the cars on lease on a monthly rental basis for the period of 12 to 36 months. The customers will have the option of buying the car after leasing it for three year.

"Like many other firsts, Mercedes-Benz first brings to India a financial product which can change the way consumers purchase a car. Our leasing product shall ensure easy upgrades for consumers & hassle free ownership experience. We are proud to be the only luxury car manufacturer to offer this option in India," said Debashis Mitra, Director, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India.

He explained that the customers in India will now to able to drive away a Mercedes-Benz model without having to pay an initial amount with a affordable rental plans which includes insurance and maintenance costs for 3 years.
