Mercedes-Benz India makes a comeback with a bangThe German luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz has made a perfect comeback in the Indian market. Notably, with total unit sales of around 321 units in April 2010, the company has taken its cumulative sales for the January- April 2010 to 1603 units.

In fact, the January to April period has been a time where the company has been reaping rich dividends as it touched a growth of 80% for April alone as compared to April 2009 and another 69% as compared to Jan- April 2009 for the entire four months of 2010.

It is believed that new E-Class has been one of the major drivers of growth for the company in the Indian market. It may be noted here that BMW was able to surpass Mercedes in 2009 banking on the insufficient availability of the E-Class.

Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India said that since the company has been focusing on developing a deeper network expansion plans and consumer delight, the high volumes are now coming in as dividends for its efforts in the recent past in the domestic market.
