Mercedes suffering from the fever of 8

Mercedes-BenzThe cut-throat competition in the Indian luxury market is all set to enter the next lap and only eight cars are keeping the German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz behind the market leader BMW to regain its top position in the Indian luxury car market. Notably, BMW dethroned Mercedes-Benz in 2009 to become the #1 luxury car major in the Indian market.

According to the numbers released by both the auto companies, BMW is on number one position with 1,314 cars, Mercedes is behind at 1,306 units and Audi stands at number three position with 778 cars.

In fact, the aggressive product launch strategy and increased marketing focus has empowered Mercedes to make a comeback in the Indian market. Experts believe that the next nine months will also see more fierce competition in the coming nine months in the Indian market.

However, it is still subject to the strategy both the German luxury carmakers, BMW and Mercedes will follow in the coming months that will decide who'll end at the top position as the calendar year ends but the third companion Audi is also catching up really fast in the Indian marketplace.
