Mercedes Benz retains its crownWhile the company was taken by surprise by the end of last year, when BMW outshined the once undisputable leader in the luxury car segment, Mercedes Benz but the company didn’t took much time to retain its crown back in the Indian market.

Notably, the company has even been able to keep its leadership intact even for the month of June 2010.

It is to be mentioned here that the company sold close to 388 units in the last month witnessing a growth of 94%. The company sold close to 200 units in the same period last year.

Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India said that the company is very excited about its growth in the Indian market and it has a lot of exciting stuff in store for the Indian consumer for the second half of the year as well.

It is to be mentioned here that the company has sold close to 2449 retail units for the period of Jan-Jun 2010 while in the same period; BMW has been able to sell 2183 units in the Indian market.
