Mercedes Benz Bus Division merges with Daimler India

Mercedes Benz Bus Division merges with Daimler IndiaDaimler India Commercial Vehicle (DICV) has announced that Mercedes Benz Bus Division is merging with the unit in India.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicle is a subsidiary of Daimler AG, the parent company of the auto firm. Mercedes Benz India Private Limited has been managing the sales of Mercedes Benz buses in the country and it will now be handled by Daimler India Commercial Vehicle. The responsibility for buses have been transferred to DICV's manufacturing plant at Oragadam, near Chennai. Markus Villinger is heading the Daimler Bus division at DICV.

"The alignment of the Bus division with DICV is a logical step in integrating the Commercial Vehicle divisions of Daimler into one cohesive unit. This is in line with our global practice to ensure better synergies in various business verticals. With this alignment Daimler will be able to expand its presence in India through a dealer network oriented and trained in the operations of Commercial Vehicles," said Llistosella, MD & CEO, DICV.

The sales of busses will be managed by DICV through the increasing network for BharatBenz. The service will be handled by the selected dealers of BharatBenz.
