McDonald's to serve Breakfast All-Day at Some locations in San Diego from April

McDonald's Chief Executive Steve Easterbrook is looking at new ways to boost sales of the fast food company. In order to increase the sales, Easterbrook is planning to try a new menu in which the company will serve breakfast all day.

The scheme will be started at some branches in the San Diego area from April. For now, the company is not sure that whether or not it will expand this scheme nationwide. Spokeswoman Terri Hickey said that they are not speculating any outcome from this experiment at the moment.

They want to learn from this test and looking forward for the same. Once the scheme is started, the customers will be able to order hash browns, Egg McMuffins and other breakfast sandwiches whole dat.

McDonald's breakfast items are quite popular and in fact, they account for around 25% of the company's sales. As per analysts, the move is considered to be a wise decision, as breakfast menu and French fries are one of the most 'craveable' on their menu.

New York-based Mark Kalinowski, an analyst at Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, was of the view, "Having those breakfast items available to sell all day would also serve as a reminder to customers (and the media and Wall Street) that McDonald's does indeed have craveable food to sell".

Earlier also, McDonald's have been asked to serve breakfast all-day, but the company said that its kitchens do not have sufficient space to cook all items at the same time. It is said that the scheme will boost McDonald's sales that have declined in the last two years.

On global level, McDonald's January sales declined around 2%. Sales were also low in China and Japan owing to food safety scandals. In February, McDonald's sales in its US restaurants declined 4% from last year.
