Mazda Motor launches Mazda VX-1 MPV in IndonesiaMazda Motor Indonesia has announced the launch of a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) called, Mazda VX-1 in the Indonesian market.

The Mazda VX-1 MPV, which is a rebadged and restyled version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, will come in two variants, the R Grade & V Grade in the country. The model will be available in 6 stylish color choices including pearl white, metallic silky silver, metallic graphite gray pearl, black pearl metallic cool, dusky brown and radiant red metallic pearl.

The Mazda VX-1 will feature 1.4 Liter K-Series petrol engine that comes in a 4 cylinder layout. The engine has a peak power of 94 Bhp while peak torque is rated at 130 Nm. The model for Indonesia will come with two gearbox options, a 5 speed manual unit and a 4 speed automatic unit. The model will also come with an ABS brake system that is seen in Suzuki Ertiga.

The model will compete with the likes of Suzuki Ertiga, Toyota Avanza, Chevrolet Spin, Nissan Livina, and Daihatsu Xenia in the South East Asian country. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which has been a hot selling model in the Indian market, will be exported to Indonesia in Mazda VX-1 form in the form of the completely knocked down (CKD) kits. These CDS kits will be assembles at the Japanese car maker Mazda's assembly unit in Indonesia.
