Maran to inaugurate Gujarat Eco Textile Park in SuratNew Delhi, Sep. 8 : Union Textile Minister Dayanidhi Maran will inaugurate the Gujarat Eco Textile Park setup under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP) at Surat on Wednesday.

The park has been set up in an area of 104 acres, at a cost of Rs. 129 crore.

It is expected to attract an investment of Rs. 705 crore, and annually produce textiles products worth Rs. 850 crore.

It will provide employment to about 25,000 people.

Among its salient features are a common effluent treatment plant of 60 MLD, a solid waste-to-energy (Power and Steam) 10 mn kcal/hr Incinerator, a 12 MW natural-gas-based captive power plant with co-generation of steam, rainwater harvesting, a water supply and storm water drainage system, the use of fly ash in the construction of roads and buildings and a scheme to plant 25,000 trees.

The minister will also address the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry during his visit. (ANI)
