Manmohan Singh meets Sarah Palin, adds glamour quotient to his US trip
New York, Sept 25: The meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin in New York today added a glamour quotient to US trip.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the ongoing UN General Assembly session in New York.
The no show of Republican presidential nominee John McCain didn’t seem to matter as the glamorous new poster girl of the Grand Old Party met Manmohan Singh for half an hour.
No details of the meeting were released.
Palin, who is said to be having less foreign affairs experience as compared to her Democrat rival Joe Biden, also met other world leaders.
Earlier, Palin met Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and leaders from Georgia, Ukraine and Iraq.
On Tuesday, Palin met Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and discussed with them the ongoing crises in their countries. She also met former US Secretary of State Henry A. Kissinger.
Palin, faces a debate on October 2 in St Louis with Biden, a veteran senator from Delaware, who is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. (ANI)
