Mac producer tries some new ApplesCupertino, California - Changes are in store for Apple's line-up of desktop Macs, the computer manufacturer has announced.

A new Mac mini will sport processor speeds of 2 gigahertz (GHz) and sell for 599 euros (755 dollars). It comes equipped with an integrated NVIDIA GeForce-9400M graphics processor, while its DDR3 SDRAM random access memory comes with 1 gigabyte (GB) of storage and a processing speed of 1,066 megahertz (MHz).

Additionally, the new mini comes with a 120 GB S-ATA hard drive and a multi-format disc burner.

A souped-up mini is available for 799 euros. This comes with 2 GB of random access memory and, at 320 GB, a noticeably larger hard drive. The processor can also be upgraded to a Core 2 Duo, with a speed of 2.26 GHz.

The changes have been repeated across the iMac family. All models now come with faster processors. The 20-inch model is now a good introductory machine, with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core-2 Duo processor, 2 GB of working memory and a 320 GB S-ATA hard drive. Additionally, there is an integrated NVIDIA 9400M graphics processor. It sells for 1,099 euros.

A 24-inch iMac is available starting at 1,399 euros. It sports a 3.06 GHz Intel Core-2 Duo processor and up to 1 terabyte of space on its hard drive. Customers can choose between ATI and NVIDIA cards for their graphics processors.

The Mac Pro continues to be the company's top model. New versions will come with Xeon chips, based on Intel's Nehalem microchip. According to the manufacturer, the chips can reach speeds of up to 2.93 GHz.

However, a quad-core Mac Pro can set a customer back 2,299 euros. Other features include 3 GB of random access memory (1,066 MHz DDR3 ECC SDRAM) and a GeForce GT 120 graphics card with 512 MB GDDR3 memory.

Another option is adding an ATI Radeon HD 4870 chip, boosting speeds to 2.93 GHz and the price to 5,339 euros. (dpa)
