Ace lyricist and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar is the latest from Bollywood to have joined the micro-blogging site Twitter.

On his page, Akhtar posted, "Hi everybody. This is Javed Akhtar joining the Twitter club. Hope to share ideas, thoughts, feelings, experiences with you all. May I."

Shabana Azmi's husband has nicknamed himself Javedakhtarjadu and has got over 4,000 followers ever since he joined Monday.

The National award winner was welcomed on Twitter by music composer Vishal Dadlani.

Dadlani tweeted, For guaranteed entertainment+enlightenment follow Javedsaab."

Born on 17 January 1945, Javed Akhtar is an Urdu poet, lyrist and scriptwriter from India.
