Lupin Acquires Pharma Dynamics

Domestic Drug-maker Lupin, acquired 60 percent stakes in South Africa-based Lupin Acquires Pharma DynamicsPharma Dynamics. The amount of deal is not disclosed by the company. It is the third acquisition by the company. Earlier in July, Lupin took over the German drug maker Hormosan Pharma and captured most of shares of Generic Health, Australia in August. 

The founder of Lupin would remain as a CEO of the company. The company wants to increase its global presence through this acquisition. The acquisition would also strengthen its position in the local market. It intends to expand its research and development activities in the region. Dr D.B. Gupta, Chairman, Lupin Ltd said that the company is interest in the European and Japanese market. 

South Africa-based Pharma Dynamics would launch 12 new products in the current fiscal. It is known for the cardiovascular medicines in Africa. Its total revenue was reported to be over Rs 66 crore in February 2008. The shares of Lupin witnessed a downfall of 3.38 percent on BSE.
