LPG WagonR makes a comeback
While the development of an LPG variant of its latest generation WagonR yet to be complete, the leading player in the Indian passenger car segment, Maruti Suzuki has recently announced the re-entry of the old LPG WagonR in the Indian market.
It is to be mentioned here that after launching the new generation WagonR in April in the Indian market, the company had discontinued the 'Duo' variant of the old WagonR.
However, anticipating a rise in its total sales in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava recently said that till the point of time the new model of WagonR will be available to the Indian consumer with the LPG option, the company will continue the duo option in the WagonR.
It may be noted here that was contributing about 20-22 per cent of total WagonR sales, which stood at 10,000-12,000 units a month. While the LPG model in the new variant is expected to take time, the company launches the factory-fitted CNG version of WagonR in this month along with, four other models -- Alto, Estilo, Eeco and SX4.
