As the recent study states the mantra for a longer living is a fulfilling sleep.
Facts on the same the report states that people who attain 100 are three times more likely to spend 10 hours of sleep, according to the scientists.
Further highlighting on the facts the research shows that health issues are very much linked with poor sleep quality. As per a report, when one sleeps a cell regenerate and at the same time removes toxins and triggers the immune system.
It was also seen that people who often complain of bad health tend to show a poor sleeping pattern. Adding to the torment is fragmented sleep that raises levels of blood fats, cholesterol, cortisol and blood pressure - all aiming towards heart ailments.
Danan Gu, of Portland State University in Oregon said, "Surprisingly, the oldest adults aged 100 and above were 70 per cent more likely to report good sleep quality than younger participants aged 65 to 79".
He further added that lack of sleep cuts down brain power and vigilance.
