LG launches new Symbian Handset KT770
Leading electronic equipment manufacturer, LG Electronics, announced to launch a new Handset KT770, company's fourth S60 on Symbian device, at the Mobile World Congress. The new product runs on Symbian OS 9.4, representing S60 5th Edition on Symbian operating system with a slider form factor and a numeric keypad.
Its other features include highly efficient 5-megapixel camera, 2.8-inch touch screen, Wi-Fi facility and HSDPA connectivity to offer high speed data transfer.
KT770, measuring only 111 x 51.5 x 15.8 mm, supports GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), UMTS (900/2100 MHz) or UMTS (850/2100 MHz) besides Stereo Bluetooth support and 9 way joystick for easier internet browsing.
LG has entered in the category of manufacturers including Samsung and Sony, with such handsets, by launching the Symbian OS-powered device, KT770.
The company is now working toward launching Windows Mobile in the future, efforts for which has already started with a strategic agreement with Microsoft to use its platform in future smart phones development. However, it would also continue its efforts to develop Android and Symbian.
The company has already launched Symbian-powered handsets including KS20 (JoY), KT610 and the KT615 in the market. However, they failed to register good response from public.
