Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain - At least three would-be immigrants died during a crossing from Africa to Spain's Canary Islands, radio reports said Wednesday.

The bodies were on board a boat which was intercepted off Gran Canaria Island.

Several of the 55 passengers also needed medical care. More details were not immediately known.
