Kingfisher Launches Five New Flights; To Fly Abroad By August
Kingfisher Airlines announced that it has launched five new flights to different destinations across the country.
The airlines launched its daily Delhi-Chandigarh- Mumbai flight, from New Delhi to Goa and Hyderabad, from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and from Chennai to Coimbatore.
Besides, the frequency of its Delhi-Hyderabad flight has been increased to three flights each day.
While talking to reporters at the launch of flight to Chandigarh, Siva Ramachandram, airlines' Vice-President (Global Sales) said, “There were a number of travellers, be it business or holidays travellers, to Shimla and other hill stations, who were facing problems to visit Chandigarh. This flight (Delhi-Chandigarh-Mumbai) will provide them a better option.”
“We are expecting 70 per cent occupancy in our flights, which may increase during the holidays”, Mr. Siva added.
Punjab Governer S F Rodrigues, who is also the Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh, welcomed the initial flight to Chandigarh.
In a declaration, Vijay Mallya, Kingfisher Airlines Chairman and CEO stated, “Through the launch of these new routes, the airlines re-affirms its commitment towards addressing the needs of its guests by providing connectivity between important business and leisure destinations in India.”
“We expect our flights into and out of Chandigarh to cater to tourists too, since it is the gateway to Himachal Pradesh, an acknowledged tourist palce,” he added.
Kingfisher Airlines has also announced that its plans to commence international operations from August. At first, it will start its operations to destinations such as San Francisco, London, New York from the Bangalore Airport.
Some more destinations will be added later, Mr. Siva also said.
