Kevin Rudd had no idea who Jimi Hendrix was!
Melbourne, Oct 22 : Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is said to have no idea at all about rock ‘n’ roll music and famous performers like late American guitarist Jimi Hendrix.
According to a Courier-Mail National Affairs editor and Party Games columnist, Rudd, 52, who is going to feature on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, was absolutely clueless.
“During some music banter, the cultural icon and guitar-playing Hendrix was mentioned, which drew a complete blank from a then 33-year-old Rudd: ‘Who’s he?’” the Courier Mail quoted the editor as revealing in his column.
“It’s only rock‘n’roll but he has no clue whatsoever,” he wrote.
During his 2007 election campaign, Rudd was asked to name his rock‘n’roll hero, an inquiry which caused the then putative prime minister to admit he wasn’t an aficionado of the genre.
“I like Simon and Garfunkel. And of course classical music. Vivaldi. I am a big fan of baroque. And early 20th-century piano music. Satie. Debussy,” Rudd had said. (ANI)
