July sees car sales go up 37%
As per the latest data revealed by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the car sales have jumped up tremendously during the month of July. Most of the increase has been in the field of domestic passenger cars.
Sales in this category jumped up by 37.95 per cent as compared to same period of last year. In real terms, the increase was from 1,15,084 units to 1,58,764 units.
The two-wheeler segment was not behind and also showed a good rising figure for the month of July. Motorcycle sales in the country went up by 30.90 per cent during the month.
In real terms, the total increase was from 5, 46,233 units during last year to 7, 10,621 units. For the whole segment the sales grew by 30.41 per cent during the month.
In terms of units, the same went up from 7,19,656 units in 2009 to 9,38,514 units.
SIAM data shows that sales of commercial vehicles has been good, but as compared to passenger cars it was lesser in terms of percentage. It jumped by 36.99 per to end at 51,481 units up from 37,580 units in 2009.
Vehicles in all categories are considered then it went up by 31.50 per cent.
