Jindal Steel & Power net profit surges 92% in Q4, Total Income jumps 44%
Jindal Steel & Power Ltd has informed that its net profit surged 92.50% to Rs 390.33 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 202.77 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007.
Total income for the quarter also surged 44.11% to Rs 1,547.79 crore compared to Rs 1,074.05 crore during the same quarter last year.
While the company's Q4 standalone net sales were at Rs 1,523 crore versus Rs 1,053.9 crore (YoY).
Jindal Steel & Power Limited (JSPL) primarily engages in steel manufacturing and power generation in India. Additionally, it involves in mining, processing, and marketing diamond, precious stones, semi precious stones, and other minerals and metals.
For the year ended March 31, 2008, the company recorded a net profit of Rs 1,236.96 crore as compared with Rs 702.99 crore during the previous year.
The Board of Directors at its meeting held on May 27 has recommended final dividend of 250% i.e. Rs 2.50 per equity share of Re 1/- each.
