Ireland releases plans for job creation in Green EconomyRichard Bruton, the minister for jobs, enterprise and innovation ahs released government plans for creation of new jobs in the Green Economy.

The minister published a new promotional brochure titled, "Delivering our Green Potential" that outlines the government's plans for boosting jobs in the cleaner economy. The document, which is officially termed as the Government's Policy Statement on Growth and Employment in the Green Economy, will help the government in enabling growth and job-creation in the various sectors in the green economy.

The document will also outline the range of actions that have to be taken to enable the growth of the economy with cleaner sources of energy and that have lesser impact on the environment. A departmental statement said that the release of the document is for honoring a key commitment under the Action Plan for Jobs 2012 by the government.

Government estimates shows that the global green economy is worth 5 trillion dollars and it employs more than 30million people. The green economy is expected to grow at 3.7% per year over the coming years. Some estimates show that Ireland could create additional 10,000 jobs in the green economy by 2015 excluding those in green financial services, agriculture, marine or tourism.
