Iraq's first oil fair starts with participation of 300 companies
Baghdad - Iraq Friday opened its first energy fair since the US-led invasion in 2003. The event went ahead at Baghdad's International Airport amid tight security.
Some 300 companies, from countries including the United Arab of Emirates, Germany, Britain and China, were taking part.
Iraq is seeking to increase its oil production to six million barrels per day over the next 10 years, said oil Minister Hussein
Shahristani. Currently, the war-torn currently produces 2.2 million barrels of oil per day.
Shahristani said Iraq was to build four NEW oil refineries in Kirkuk, al-Amarah, al-Nasiriyah and Karbala. (dpa)
