Iraqi tribal police leader, family, killed in bombing
Baghdad- A high-ranking member of an Iraqi tribal police group died Thursday, along with his wife and two daughters, when their mini-bus was bombed, police sources told Deutsche Presse- Agentur dpa.
The victim was a commander of one of the tribal police groups known as "Awakening Councils." These US-backed Sunni units were formed to fight militants from the al-Qaeda terrorist network in Iraq.
The attack occurred in the city of Baquba. Another eight family members were injured in the attack and were taken to a hospital for treatment, the police source added. (dpa)
