Intel to produce new graphics chip
Los Angeles - The world's largest computer chipmaker, Intel Corp, is launching a new set of graphic chips for video games to take on specialists like Nvidia and ATI.
The Larrabee graphics processor should allow new possibilities in the design of high-resolution games. It will be the first in a series of chips with a large number of processor cores.
The chip could give the market a "significant boost," according to analyst John Peddie.
The chip isn't expected to reach the market till the end of 2009 or early 2010. (dpa)
