Indian Techie Charged With Stealing Trade Secrets
A former Intel employee from India, Bishwasmohan Pani has been charged with theft of trade secrets, while working for rival AMD (Advanced Micro Devices).
However, speaking to CNN on this, Pani ruled out the charges levied on him by Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI). He said that design files were meant to help his wife who still works with Intel and were not intended for sale.
In July, the FBI founded 13 top secret files with details of future Intel chip designs from Pani’s house in Worcester, Massachusetts. As a result he was charged by the US District Court in Boston in late August.
Pani has so far not been arrested by the police, but has been asked to surrender his passport to the US authorities.
Meanwhile, Pani’s parents in Orissa are exacting that their son is being dragged without any cause into a dispute between two rival companies.
