“I Was Emotionally Blackmailed and Used By the Reporter” – Rashmi Singh

New Delhi: I was emotionally blackmailed and used by the reporter Prakash Singh, said the girl who allegedly posed as a student of Uma Khurana in the sting operation, Rashmi Singh, on Sunday.

Rashmi’s counsel R K Thakur told that an application would be filed to turn her approver in the case, but would decide the timing later.

Rashmi had filed an application to turn an approver in the case on September 7, but earlier on Thursday, she had withdrawn her application to turn an approver in a city court.

She told to newspersons that she believed the reporter because he was from a major television channel.

Rashmi said, "I found no reason to suspect his credentials, and he exploited me since I had no knowledge of how sting operations are carried out. Whenever I raised a question suspecting his intention he told me this is how sting operations are done and it was for greater social good,"

Rashmi also told that she never knew Uma Khurana and had nothing against her. "As he told me that she was involved in a sex racket, I agreed to support him in the sting operation. But it was my greatest mistake to believe Prakash,"

She told that whenever she asked anything about the sting operation, Prakash shouted at her saying, "Never talk anything about the sting operation over telephone. I have told you time and again that my phone is being recorded. That’s why I called you earlier from new numbers. It will not be aired. Everything has been deleted."

Rashmi said that though she lodged a compliant against Virender Arora and Prakash, she was later arrested and was sent to Tihar jail.

She narrated, "There I met Uma Khurana. It was early in the morning. She told me that I am like her child and I must do everything to see that her life her children's life is not ruined. I told her that I had submitted everything to the olice and I knew nothing about her. I also told her how I was emotionally black mailed."
