HT Media’s net profit up six-folds
HT Media, the media major said that it has seen six-fold increase in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ending March 31, 2010. The profit of the company stood at Rs. 47.99 crore, said the company. It stood at Rs. 7.59 core for the same period last year.
The increase has been due to rise in advertisement revenue and also due to rising circulation figures.
Meanwhile, the company is also planning to re-launch its flagship brand, Hindustan Times.
The new brand will try to make Hindustan Times seem a more young and innovative brand. Also, said that CEO of HT Media, Rajiv Kumar, this will increase its reach just the way it did in the case of Hindi Hindustan and Mint.
Till now, Rajiv added, the strategy has worked well for us.
The total income of HT Media stood at Rs 385.10 crore for the fourth quarter. This is against Rs. 342.37 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal. Net profit was at Rs 135.93 crore as compared to Rs 0.90 crore in the previous fiscal.
It is also planning to invest Rs. 68-70 crore for expanding its Hindustan and Mint brands.
