HP, WWF-India Sign Partnership Deal To Launch Earth Hour 2009 In IndiaHP has joined hands with World Wide Fund for Nature-India (WWF) as the Green technology partner to launch Earth Hour 2009 in order to deal with the causes and consequences of climate change.

HP will partner with WWF- India in favor of the Earth Hour campaign to drive greater community consciousness and action around behaviour affecting climate change, cheering individuals and organizations to make a difference in the battle against global warming.

The Earth Hour 2009 is scheduled on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 8.30pm in cities throughout the worls including India.

During Earth Hour, millions of individuals and businesses will turn off their lights for one hour, demonstrating that by working together, we can all make a difference in the fight against climate change.

Bina Raj Debur, Country Communication Manager, HP India said, “HP is pleased to extend its partnership with WWF in this unique initiative to combat issues around climate change.”

“For decades, we at HP have been committed to reducing our environmental impact and making it easier for our customers to ‘go green’. Through the Design for Environment Program, HP has brought to market cutting edge-technologies, energy-efficient products, and reuse and recycling services for businesses in India,” she added.

Mr. Ravi Singh, WWF India said, “Earth hour is a unique initiative with which we hope to raise awareness and encourage people to make energy reduction a priority.”  He added, “Collaboration is essential in this regard. We are confident that our partnership with HP will help us make a powerful impact in educating others about climate change and energy efficiency.”

WWF and HP greet individuals and business groups to join them in tackling climatic changes.

Some of the other partners in this campaign include Wipro, HSBC Bank, Google, Intel, Nokia, YES Bank, NDPL,Ogilvy, Tata Indicom, ITC Welcome group, Standard Chartered, CBRE, Delhi Government, Tetra Pak and PVR Cinemas.
