HP Unveils A Notebook PC With Battery Time Of 24 Hrs

On Monday, a latest notebook configuration was launched by Hewlett-Packard. The HP Unveils A Notebook PC With Battery Time Of 24 Hrs company claimed that it will provide 24 hours battery runtime that is five hours more than its rival Dell’s laptops.

With the aim to achieve enhanced battery life, HP has installed an EliteBook 6930p along with an Intel solid-state drive; a 14.1-inch LED display that consumes less power than the usual LCD screens in notebooks with an extra 12-cell ultra-capacity battery. The weight of the battery is 1.77 pounds and the users will have to pay an additional $189.

Though the prices of the SSDs have not been disclosed as yet, the drives which will come with 80GB or 160 GB will definitely be costly. On Monday, Intel informed that their smaller model would cost $595 in quantities of 1,000.

The price of the basic EliteBook 6930p equipped with a standard battery and 160GB hard disk drive has been fixed at $1,775. Some of the features are, 2 GB of memory, a 2.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, integrated Webcam, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless support.

Nearly a month after Dell announced 19 hours of battery life on the 14.1-inch Latitude E6400, HP came out with its low-power EliteBook configuration. An optional nine hours battery is also being offered by Dell in order to achieve the extended runtime. An optional solid-state drive is also available. It is said that less power is consumed by SSDs than the hard-disks drives.

A low power mode has been added as an addition by Dell, which automatically triggers a number of battery-saving mechanisms. This includes a reduction in the display's refresh cycle. The price of E6400 is $1,139.
