According to the details shared by HP, the new ElitePad 900 tablet will be nearly 1.5 pounds in weight and barely 9.2-millimters in thickness. Some of the most compelling features of the tablet will be a 10.1-inch, 1,280x800-pixel Gorilla Glass-coated screen; Intel integrated graphics; pen input; 2GB of built-in memory; a maximum of 64GB solid state hard drive; an 8-megapixel rear camera; and optional 3G/4G connectivity.

While HP has refrained from sharing other specifications of the ElitePad 900 tablet, it has nonetheless mentioned that the processor powering the tablet will be a "next-generation Intel Atom mobile processor." As such, going by speculations, the processor of the tablet will probably be the new Atom CPU from chip-maker Intel's `Clover Trail' line-up.

The tablet is scheduled to hit the markets in January next year, and its pricing will be revealed close to the launch date. At that time, HP will also disclose the cost of a number of ElitePad 900 accessories --- including a ruggedized case for the device; an "HP Executive Tablet Pen"; a full-blown docking station; and a couple of keyboard "jackets" which will also feature a few additional options for connectivity.
