Hero Honda’s April sales marginally up
Country's market leader in the two-wheeler segment in terms of unit sales and the largest producer of two-wheelers by volumes for the consecutive years, Hero Honda is facing the high base effect in its monthly unit sales in April. The company reported a marginal increase in sales at 3,71,652 units in April compared to the same period last year.
The company had sold around 3.70 lakh units in the same month last year. It may be noted here that April 2010 is the 16th month in a row where the company has been able to cross the 3 lakh tag in a month's time. Moreover, Anil Dua, Senior VP - Sales & Marketing, Hero Honda said that the company has been forecasting the demand trends and everything is going as per the plan.
Moreover, Dua also mentioned the fact that the company adjusts its production level as per the demand trends. However, the strike at Exide Industries have taken its own toll from the company as the battery-maker faced a labour unrest at its factory and as it supplies batteries to Hero Honda, the two-wheeler major faced a mismatch in demand and supply.
