Hazel Blears becomes bikini babe, courtesy ‘Google Bombing’!
London, Aug 23 : Hazel Blears would like to be known for her eco-friendly policies, but if you type the British politician’s name into the search engine, Google, a more unlikely image appears.
The top result produced by the search engine is a photo showing Blears’ face superimposed on the body of a bikini-clad model, next to the words “Attack of the 50 inch woman”.
The image, which is in the style of a 1950s Hollywood B-Movie poster, emerged on the Internet during Blears’ unsuccessful campaign for the Labour deputy leadership last year.
It plays on her reputation as a fearsome but diminutive political performer.
The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government is 4ft 11in tall. The montage has been posted on and linked to from so many websites that it has soared to the top of Google’s popularity rankings.
A spokesman for the search giant said that the image’s high ranking was due to its popularity across the internet and not the result of a stunt known as “Google Bombing”, by which search results are manipulated, often for satirical ends. (ANI)
