GPS guided bicycle tours of Greater Poland published online

Berlin  - A detailed map using GPS satellite technology of bicycle routes in Poland's Wielkopolska province is now available online.

Wielkopolska (Greater Poland) is the first province in Poland to offer GPS guided tours of its 1,500 kilometres of cycle ways, according to the Polish tourist office in Berlin.

There are seven routes in all ranging in distances of between 100 and 250 kilometres.

The tour around the western city of Poznan, for example, is 170 kilometres long.

The "Piast Bike Tour" on the trail of the first Polish ruling dynasty covers 104 kilometres of paths and takes cyclists from Poznan to Gniezno.

An extended tour from the north to the south of Wielkopolska is about 500 kilometres long.
