Gina Rinehart to participate in Ten Network's capital raising

Gina Rinehart to participate in Ten Network's capital raisingMining billionaire Gina Rinehart has hinted that she will participate in the $230 million capital raising plan of the Ten Network, which is planning its second capital raising in six months.

According to reports, Rinehart has written a letter to Citigroup, which is conducting the capital raising exercise, confirming that she will participate in the activity and take her share in the rights issue. The institutional entitlement element is set to close today and this indicates that final agreement has not been reached.

Rinehart only agreed at the last minute to support the troubled network, which she holds a stake of 10 per cent. She is also part of the board of the company and appears to be interested in eth issue even as it has been a second such issue by the company is just six months.

She was undecided over her participation in the institutional component of the capital raising on Thursday even after the Ten's annual general meeting but has not confirmed her participation. Her decision to take part in the issue comes after similar announcements by Ten's three other big shareholders, billionaire James Packer, Lachlan Murdoch and Bruce Gordon to take part in the issue.
