Dr. M. S. Gill, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports have announced that a new synthetic hockey turf will be laid at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) on Sunday.

Dr. Gill has announced this project of laying new synthetic hockey turf at GNDU during a visit to GNDU and this project will cost Rs 4 crore.

Dr. Gill also met with the hockey players and other children who are getting training for hockey at the GNDU campus.

Dr. Gill said that they are working for development of hockey in India as hockey is a very popular game in India. He further added that he hope that GNDU will continue to make progress in the field of sports.

Dr Gill also said that football is also his favorite game and new 700 coaches will be appointed all over the India to pick up the level of sports in India.
