Gifts mount up for Dorset Echo Toy Appeal
The Christmas Toy Appeal is full in function as the gifts are building up at Tesco, Weymouth.
Tesco Metro, situated in St Thomas Street, is a collection point for toy appeal this year.
The bins for gift collection have been in the store for more than two weeks now and the pile of gifts for the underprivileged children is getting bigger and bigger.
The Echo has been doing such kind of charitable work for the past 11 years, making sure that hundreds of underprivileged children get a gift on Christmas Day.
The community champion at Tesco, Neil Wilkins, said that they wanted to get involved with the campaign as they wanted to do something for the local community and because they have a lot of people who shop at their store.
The closer they get to December, that is, the nearer Christmas actually starts for many people, the gifts start coming from then only.
Some of the most popular gift choices have been games and art and craft materials and sometimes even hand-knitted scarves.
The appeal has apparently grabbed the attention of the people as their act makes a difference to children in Dorset, plus it is very easy to do.
