London, Oct 9 - George Clooney has bought his girlfriend a diamond ring and close friends says this is proof that his romance with Elisabetta Canalis is getting serious.

Clooney started dating Italian actress and TV personality this summer and asked her to move into his home in California. Contactmusic. com reports that he is so smitten with Canalis that he has bought her a string of gifts, including a ring.
