“No to 8” supporters refuse to concede; file three lawsuitsSeeking the overturn of Proposition 8 - which defines marriage as the union of a man and a woman - supporters of gay rights filed three lawsuits in the California Supreme Court on Wednesday.

The American Civil Liberties Union, Lambda Legal and the National Center for Lesbian Rights filed one suit; the counties of San Francisco, Los Angeles and Santa Clara filed a joint lawsuit; and Civil rights attorney Gloria Allred filed one suit on behalf of lesbian clients married in Los Angeles.

Ford in India sells Ikon, Fusion and Fiesta cars, and the Endeavor sports-utility vehicle. Michael Boneham, president of Ford India Pvt. Ltd. said "The Credit crunch and the lack of confidence has affected in the short-term" however adding that the plans for new models of Ikon "are on track despite the difficulties".

Sensex Down 223.97 Pts At 9,896.04The 30-share index BSE Sensex fell into the negative terrain on account of heavy selling activity in metal and blue-chip stocks.

Oil & gas, auto and IT stocks have edged up a bit from their earlier lows. Metal stocks continue to trade weak, while realty and FMCG sectors too have bounced back from their lower levels.

BSE Midcap and Smallcap index lost 1.42% and 1.96% respectively.

Today, the Indian stock market belled the day after losing 364.98 points at 9,755.03.

India To Export 2 MT wheat Owing To Problem Of PlentyAgriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, after meeting the farm ministers from South Asian countries, told reporters that "We have set aside two million tonnes of wheat that will be given to countries which have been asking for it through diplomatic channels".

Although India had banned wheat exports in 2007, analysts say that robust output and higher stocks at government warehouses have enabled India, the world's second-biggest producer, to set aside some wheat for overseas supplies.
