National games postponed

National games postponedThe 34th National Games to be held in Jharkhand have been further postponed and will now be held on Feb 15-28.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) earlier postponed the Games at the request of National Games Organising Committee (NGOC) as Jharkhand failed to develop the infrastructure in time for the Dec 1-13 event.

"The National Games date has been extended as the necessary infrastructure was not ready. The IOA has accepted the request to extend the dates and the games will take place in February," Jharkhand Sports Minister Bandhu Tirkey said.

India's Champions League Cricket Tournament Postponed

India's Champions League Cricket Tournament Postponed In view of the terror attacks in Mumbai, India's Champions League cricket tournament has been postponed. Teams from Australia, South Africa, England and Pakistan, along with the hosts India, were to take part in the inaugural edition of the showbiz event from

December 3-10. Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai were the three venues. Lalit Modi, chairman of the Champions League board stated, "We couldn't get a third venue to replace Mumbai at such short notice." The teams were to stay at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel, one of the chief targets of Wednesday's attack.

WT 20 called off: ICL Executive Board

Indian Cricket LeagueThe Indian Cricket League has called off its World Twenty20 Series because of the latest Terror attacks in Mumbai. Kiran More Executive board member and tournament director said, “We have taken the decision of calling off the rest of the ICL World Series tournament. We believe that it is inappropriate to continue the series under the given circumstances. All players and officials are under appropriate security."

The tournament was left with virtually the semi-finals, and the final to be contested.

The league had already called off Thursday’s match between ICL Pakistan and ICL Bangladesh.

Champions Trophy put off

Twenty20 Champions League The inaugural Twenty20 Champions League was deferred in the wake of security fears following the terror attacks in Mumbai.

The decision was taken by the league's governing council after consultations with the tournament's three founding board members - India, Australia and South Africa.

The Champions League organisers cited security as a major concern for the tournament and with teams reluctant to participate, they decided to postpone the eight-day event fresh dates for which will be decided next month.

Mumbai Terror strikes forces ICL To Call Off The World Series

ICLThe Indian Cricket League has decided to call off its Season 2 ICL World Series tournament because of the terror attacks in Mumbai on November 26.

The decision to call off the ongoing series was taken last evening at an executive board meeting.

Speaking on this, ICL Executive Board member, Kiran More said, "We have taken the decision of calling off the rest of the ICL World Series tournament. We believe that it is inappropriate to continue the series under the given circumstances. All players and officials are under appropriate security."

Asif puts off his Mumbai visit

Mohammad-AsifIn the wake of terror attacks in Mumbai, dope-tainted pacer Mohammad Asif has cancelled his visit to Mumbai as the hearing of the drugs inquiry tribunal of the IPL has been delayed.

Asif was scheduled to leave for India on Thursday to appear before the drug inquiry tribunal on November 29.

Speaking with the media persons, Asif said, ''After the Mumbai attacks, I called them up to find out the status quo of the drugs tribunal hearing and they told me they will convey fresh dates later on to me."
