Punjab farmers, lawmakers rubbish Radio Pakistan’s lack of water rumour

Punjab, FerozpurFerozepur , Nov. 4 : Radio Pakistan in its latest broadcast has tried to provoke Punjab’s farmers again by stating that there isn’t enough water for irrigation in the State and due to these adverse conditions, farmers are committing suicide.

There baseless reports have invited criticism from all quarters here. The general sentiment is that Radio Pakistan appears obsessed about creating unrest in the minds of people.

India needs ICT revolution to move forward: Kapil Sibal

Kapil SibalNew Delhi, Nov. 4 : Union Minister of State for Science and Technology and Ocean Development Kapil Sibal has said the country needs an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) revolution if it has to move forward.

Speaking at the 55th Convocation Day of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) here over the weekend, Sibal said that ICT should be recognized as the vehicle of success and growth of the nation and initiatives should be taken at political level.

Assamese take out candle light march for bomb blast victims

Disney''s popular cartoon characters celebrate festive season at New Delhi

Mickey Mouse, Minnie MouseNew Delhi, Nov 4 : Walt Disney''s most popular creations Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse who are in India to celebrate the festive season at a special live event titled "The Mickey Mouse Show" interacted with their fans in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Dressed in traditional Indian attire, both Mickey and Minnie enthralled their young fans by dancing to the popular numbers from the Bollywood films.

The attempt is aimed at creating more awareness about the Disney characters amongst Indian children.

Obama votes in Chicago

Barack ObamaChicago - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama returned to Chicago, the city where his rise to prominence began, Tuesday and cast his vote at 8:45 am (1345 GMT) at the Shoesmith School gymnasium.

Obama arrived at the polling station with his wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Natasha.

The Democratic candidate took his time, pausing to explain the process to his daughters at the booth, and prompting television commentators to joke: "Is he undecided?"

Obama, 47, who would be the first African American president in US history if elected, was the strong favourite heading into Tuesday's vote.

Palestinian Authority calls for Jerusalem municipal poll boycott
