80 kg of RDX used in Guwahati blasts

Nearly 80 kg of deadly RDX was used in the Guwahati blast alone.

According to officials of the forensic laboratory those explosives were used through three maruti cars planted at the blast site. Each of the cars were loaded with approximately 25 kgs of RDX.

"Such large quantity of RDX were never used to carry out explosions in Assam before as Ammonium Nitrate, with plasticers as propellants and Programmable Time Devices (PTD) were usually used to carry out a blast," said an official involved in the investigation process.

This was the maximum amount of explosive used for blasts in the state.

Earlier the highest amount was 10 kgs used to carry out explosion at Dhemaii during Independence Day celebration in 2004.

Mangalore: Private Buses to Pave Way for Government Ones

The private buses in Mangalore will be shortly replaced by Govt. services. This was announced by Transport minister R Ashok.

Private owners are providing city bus services in the city.

A necessary action plan in this regard has already been chalked out. Govt. has issued instructions to the district administration in this regard the minister informed.

He said that the state owned Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is fully equipped to handle transport in the state. He even informed that the state government is planning to ban movement of private buses on national highways in the state.
