Amazon’s Kindle is Oprah Winfrey’s ‘new favorite thing in the world’

Oprah WinfreyWashington, Oct 25 : Oprah Winfrey is so fascinated by Amazon’s Kindle, an embedded system for reading electronic books, that she has decided to endorse the product.

A posting on her website revealed that the e-book reader is her “favorite new gadget.”

"I''m telling you, it is absolutely my new favorite thing in the world,” Wired News quoted her, as stating.

"There are not any keys in there, but something equally as good,” she added.

WAGS attacked by fur protestors at fashion show

Gerrard got the shock of her life when a campaigner dressed up as a bear and grabbed her as she made her way down the red carpet to the Grey Room in Liverpool.

Later, Coleen and her mum had to dodge a smack from a huge placard, as the Furfree Liverpool campaigners gave the girls a red card for shopping at the fur friendly store.

“It was crazy. The girls were really shaken when they got inside the venue,” the Mirror quoted a source, as saying.

Srikkanth peps up Ganguly for more tons

Speaking with the media persons, Srikkanth said, “I am very happy Ganguly is doing so well. He still has two more matches to go.”

Odierno vows to help Iraq and Turkey against PKK

Baghdad - Top US Commander in Iraq General Ray Odierno has pledged to work with the Iraqi and Turkish governments to halt any attacks by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) against Turkey, a US military statement said Saturday.

Odierno met in Turkey Saturday with General Hasan Igsiz, deputy chief of Turkish General Staff, to discuss military cooperation and "US forces' ongoing assistance to Turkey in its effort to defeat the Kurdish rebel group known as the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK," according to the statement.

A spate of PKK attacks killed dozens of Turkish soldiers and civilians, sparking public outcry and pledges from Turkish leaders to deal with the group, the statement noted.

Lewis Hamilton vows to stay cool for Brazil grand prix championship title

Lewis HamiltonLondon, Oct 25: British Formula One sensation Lewis Hamilton has insisted that he will be positive in his bid to become champion in Brazil.

The McLaren ace, who only needs to finish in the top five to take the title, said: “Fundamentally, I’ll approach this race the same way I’ve approached the previous races. Obviously, my aim for Brazil is slightly different from the other grand prix because I don’t need to win the race.”

Press wants Barack Obama to win White House race: Survey

Barack ObamaWashington, Oct 25: Seventy percent of voters say that the media wants Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama to win the presidential election while just nine percent said the press favored McCain.

According to a Pew Research Center survey of 1,003 adults conducted from October 17-20, among Republican respondents, the figure was 90 percent, and even 62 percent of Democratic respondents agreed with the idea that “most journalists are pulling for Obama.”
