Latest word added to Collins English Dictionary is from ‘The Simpsons’

London, Nov 17 : The Collins English Dictionary has a new word added to its list, and its origin is from the American animated sitcom The Simpsons.

The new word, Meh, which Lisa Simpson spelled out M-E-H for Homer, has been added, and it suggests a lack of enthusiasm, of being unimpressed, mediocre or boring.

The word was chosen as the public''s entry for the 30th anniversary edition of Collins English Dictionary, which will be published in 2009, as it is being used frequently in today''s English.

Meh was submitted by Erin Whyte from Nottingham who defined it as “an expression of utter boredom or an indication of how little you care for an idea”.

Jacko sued £4.3million by Arab sheik for breaching record deal

Michael JacksonLondon, Nov 17 : King of Pop Michael Jackson has been sued 4.3million pounds by an Arab sheik for not sticking to his record deal.

The lawsuit was brought about by Prince Abdulla Al-Khalif, of Bahrain, reports the Sun.

The Prince claims that Jacko had signed an exclusive deal for an autobiography, two albums and a musical, but that he never came through with the deal.

Obamas’ on their personal transition

Barack ObamaChicago, Nov. 17 : The Obamas’ are looking forward to their stay at the White House 65 days from now, and do hope that the transition at the personal level will be smooth for them and their daughters 10-year-old Malia and 7-year-old Sasha.

They will be the youngest first family to move into the White House since the Kennedys did in 1960.

Talking to Steve Kroft in CBS 60 minutes, the Obamas’ said the idea they would be the 44th President of the United States and the next First Lady was yet to sink in, but added that the election more than anything had shown them what a great country they were living in.

Suicide attack kills three Pakistani soldiers

PakistanIslamabad - A suicide attacker killed at least three troops and injured three more Monday at an army check post in Pakistan's restive north-west Swat valley, a local military spokesman said.

"A suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into the post at around 11:45 am in Gashkor village of the district," Colonel Nadeem Ahmad told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.

The post was completely destroyed in the attack, he said.

Iran to hold conference on Obama and future ties with US
