Arun Shourie says Modi should become PM after AdvaniAhmedabad, April 24: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Shourie on Friday said that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi should become the Prime Minister after party’s prime ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani.

“In my personal opinion, the next Prime Minister should also be elected from Gujarat after Advani becomes the Prime Minister after ongoing general elections,” Shourie told a press conference here.

Arun Shourie further said that Gujarat has made rapid development under Modi’s leadership, which made him the best candidate for PM’s post.

Schumacher, who retired in 2006 after winning seven championship titles, had come under fire from former world champion Niki Lauda and others for the team's failed strategies in the opening two races of the season.

Schumacher did not attend last week's Chinese Grand Prix when Ferrari was again out of the points, and was not planning to be at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday.

The benchmark indices closed on a strong note for the second day led by telecom, capital goods, auto and bank stocks. The Sensex closed 194 points or 1.74% higher at 11,329 and the Nifty rose 1.67% or 57 points to settle at 3,480. The broader indices - CNX Midcap was up 1.68% and BSE Smallcap Index closed 68 points or 1.71%.

Ikea names veteran as new chief executiveStockholm - Swedish furniture retail giant Ikea Friday named Mikael Ohlsson as its new chief executive officer.

Ohlsson, who began as a carpet seller at Ikea's store in the central city of Linkping some 30 years ago, was to replace Anders Dahlvig as of September 1.

Dahlvig has been head of the furniture giant that employs some 127,000 people for 10 years.

Ikea was founded by Ingvar Kamprad in 1943. It is not a listed company and does not disclose its profitability.
