Gehlot grants approval for annual financial incentive package of Rs. 3376 crores to HPCL

Ashok-GehlotNew Delhi, Feb 22 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given in principle approval for the annual financial incentive package of Rs. 3376 crores to HPCL as desired by the petroleum company for setting up refinery in his state.

This package will be for 15 years after the start of commercial production by HPCL.

Gehlot wrote a letter to the Union Petroleum Minister Dr. M. Veerappa Moily earlier on Tuesday after having a telephonic discussion with him. In his letter, Gehlot said that for making this project practical and for desired gap funding the Rajasthan Government has taken this decision in the varied interest of the people of the state, which will prove to be a milestone.

Gehlot requested Dr. Moily to direct the HPCL to give early approval to the refinery in Rajasthan. He said the formal approval of the refinery will fulfill the long awaited expectations of the people of the state.

The chief minister also requested that the Union Petroleum and Gas Ministry gives approval to the other necessary requirements soon so that the work for refinery in Rajasthan could be started as early as possible.

Gehlot wrote to Dr. Moily that at this juncture his cooperation will make the years old dream of the people of Rajasthan could take real shape. (ANI)
