Fox Business Network apologizes after Commentator called Tim Cook a Bigot

During 'Imus in the Morning' show on Wednesday, commentator Bernard McGuirk called Apple CEO Tim Cook a 'bigot hypocrite'. He called cook so for 'running his mouth' about the new law. The show is broadcasted on Fox Business. On Friday, the American cable and satellite business news television channel has apologized for what its commentator had said earlier.

According to reports, McGuirk called Cook a 'bigot' in response to Cook's column in the Washington Post where the Apple CEO admonished Indiana's religious freedom law. In the column, Cook has talked about other potential laws like Indiana's religious freedom law.

The segment where Cook was called 'bigot' was between Fox anchors Dagen McDowell and Connell McShane. During the segment, McGuirk said that there is a lot of hypocrisy. The anchor then mentioned New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. According to McGuirk, the governor told his employees in the state not to go to Indiana, but he himself is going to Cuba where gay marriage is illegal. "You have this hypocrite, this bigot hypocrite, Tim Cook, who is running his mouth about the whole thing", McGuirk added.

McShane asked McGuirk whether the anchor was talking about consumer electronics company Apple CEO. In response, McGuirk said yes, because Cook sells products to Iran and Saudi Arabia, where they execute people if they are gay.

McDowell said that Cook may be hypocrite, but is a bigot. McGuirk further said that Cook is a religious bigot. The CEO won't allow these religious people to exercise their freedom, the anchor added.

In the apology, Fox Business network said that it would like to make it clear that the channel does not believe that Cook is a bigot. Cook runs consumer electronics company, which is a worldwide brand.
