Food and drug adulterators have to face hard-hitting rulesMayawati, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said on Thursday that food and drug adulterators have to bear hard consequences and she has also warned all the officials that who will show carelessness and neglection in arresting the culprit will himself have to deal with the results.

She also issued a circular on Thursday stating that District Magistrates (DM) will be directly held responsible for detection of any food and drug adulteration.

She also states that DM has to closely monitor the uncontrolled sale of oxytoxin, which is used to boost the fruits and vegetables to grow fast. Oxytoxin is highly toxic in nature and is given to cows and buffaloes to increase the milk output.

So far 153 people were found involved in food adulteration and have been arrested and sent to jail over the past two months.

Moreover, 102 people were arrested for selling spurious, adulterated and toxic drugs.
