Hathras, Feb 21 : Three armed assailants were shot dead on Saturday in the district court premises at Hathras in Uttar Pradesh after they killed two prisoners.

According to police officials, the incident took place when the two prisoners, Kamlesh and Satyaeet, accused of rape and murder, were being produced before the district court.

Three unidentified gunmen started firing indiscriminately on the prisoners.

Police is looking at the case as one based on old enmity.

The police have sealed the area. All dead bodies have been sent for post mortem.

The identity of the attackers has not been revealed yet. (ANI)
