Heidenheim, Germany - Five people were found dead Thursday after a fire in an apartment in the southern German town of Heidenheim, police said.

The building's landlord called police after noticing soot on the windows. The fire had ceased. Police in Heidenheim, 75 kilometres east of Stuttgart, were investigating the cause of the deaths. (dpa)
